Focused on economic advancement and growth, KBC emphasizes engagement, marketing, infrastructure improvement, and assistance for local enterprises.

KBC is in search of a dynamic and seasoned Chief Executive Officer to steer the organization towards fulfilling its mission and vision.

The Chief Executive Officer will be instrumental in propelling economic development initiatives, enhancing community involvement, and advocating for the interests of Kentville's business sector.

This role presents an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on the growth and success of Kentville's commercial community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Guide KBC in executing its strategic framework to boost economic development within Kentville's central area.
  • Collaborate with the Board of Directors to formulate and implement a detailed downtown strategic framework.
  • Advocate for the collective interests of Kentville's businesses by fostering open communication and gathering feedback from local enterprises and organizations.
  • Build partnerships with economic development stakeholders and regional entities to enhance support for the business community.
  • Market Kentville as a prime location for regional events, creating opportunities for local businesses to thrive.
  • Oversee marketing and promotional efforts to elevate awareness of Kentville's business community across diverse media channels.
  • Supervise staff and contractors involved in KBC's initiatives, ensuring effective project management and execution.

Qualifications:

  • University degree in Business, Economics, Community Development, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in Business, Economics, or Community Development, demonstrating a proven record of leadership and success.
  • Expertise in social media management, website content editing, spreadsheet software, and graphic design tools. Familiarity with bookkeeping software is advantageous.
  • Experience in marketing and public relations, including media relations, advertising campaign management, and content creation.

Performance Indicators:

Formal performance evaluations conducted at least annually by the Board of Directors. This is a full-time role reporting to the Board of Directors. The Chief Executive Officer is expected to manage their time effectively to maintain a healthy work-life balance.
