Job Title: Library Technician

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Library Technician. As a key member of our library staff, you will be responsible for developing, organizing, and maintaining a diverse collection of library materials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain a collection of library materials that meet the needs of students, teachers, and parents.
  • Locate and provide resource information to support teaching and learning.
  • Deliver library services, including cataloging, shelving, and circulation.
  • Support teachers' instructional programs by providing resources and materials.
  • Participate in professional development and organizational meetings to stay up-to-date on best practices and technologies.

Requirements:

  • Library Technician Diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution or equivalent.
  • Three months experience with the Dewey Decimal Classification System and cataloging procedures.
  • Computer and audio-visual equipment knowledge and experience.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills to promote library services.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Working Conditions:

This is a casual on-call position, requiring flexibility to work varied hours, including weekdays and occasional evenings. Must be able to travel to all locations within the Niagara Catholic District School Board jurisdiction.

Rate of Pay: $21.08 per hour
