Job Summary

The Ottawa Department of Medicine is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Epileptologist to join our team. As a key member of our Neurology Department, you will be responsible for evaluating and managing epilepsy patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and manage epilepsy patients in inpatient and outpatient settings, including subspecialty clinics
  • Interpret diagnostic standard, ambulatory, ICU, and continuous video-EEG monitoring (EMU)
  • Perform epilepsy pre-surgical evaluations
  • Participate in outpatient general neurology clinics and on the neurology inpatient and consultation services
  • Teach clinical neurophysiology and epilepsy fellows
  • Precept medical students and neurology residents
  • Participate in epilepsy research activities
Requirements
  • Fellowship trained in epilepsy/EEG with experience in epilepsy monitoring (EMU, cEEG, Ambulatory EEG)
  • Added subspecialty certification in Epilepsy and/or Clinical Neurophysiology
  • Track record of peer-reviewed publications and post-fellowship clinical experience in epilepsy monitoring
  • MD degree
  • Member of, or eligible to be a member of, the Canadian Medical Protective Association
  • Eligible for certification in Neurology by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada
  • Licensure in Ontario
