Epilepsy Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Epileptologist to join our team at the Ottawa Department of Medicine. As a key member of our neurology team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional care to patients with epilepsy and seizure disorders.

• Evaluate and manage epilepsy patients in inpatient and outpatient settings, including subspecialty clinics.
• Interpret diagnostic standard, ambulatory, ICU, and continuous video-EEG monitoring (EMU).
• Perform epilepsy pre-surgical evaluations.
• Participate in outpatient general neurology clinics and on the neurology inpatient and consultation services.
• Educate clinical neurophysiology and epilepsy fellows.
• Precept medical students and neurology residents.
• Actively participate in epilepsy research activities.

The ideal candidate will be fellowship trained in epilepsy/EEG with experience in epilepsy monitoring (EMU, cEEG, Ambulatory EEG) and management of epilepsy in the outpatient and inpatient settings. A track record of peer-reviewed publications and post-fellowship clinical experience in epilepsy monitoring is also desired.

The successful candidate must hold an MD degree, be a member of, or be eligible to be a member of, the Canadian Medical Protective Association, and be eligible for certification in Neurology by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
