Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate and complete patient records, including demographic information, medical history, and treatment plans
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, such as HIPAA and Ontario's Personal Health Information Protection Act
  • Process and manage requests for medical records, including circle of care release of information requests
  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients, families, and healthcare providers, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient care
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety

Requirements:

  • Ontario Secondary School Graduation Diploma or equivalent
  • Preference given to applicants with experience in a health record department
  • Knowledge of Cerner applications and experience with the Inquiry EsOne dictation system and InVision reports
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information with tact and diplomacy
  • Commitment to patient care and safety and service excellence
  • Must have and provide proof of full COVID-19 immunization (2 or more doses)
