Culinary Specialist Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Culinary Specialist to join our team at Selkirk Motor Hotel. As a key member of our food and beverage team, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking complete meals or individual dishes and foods, as well as requisitioning food and kitchen supplies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Food Preparation: Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods, adhering to high standards of quality and presentation.
  • Supply Management: Requisition food and kitchen supplies, ensuring timely delivery and minimizing waste.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain accurate inventory records of food, supplies, and equipment, identifying areas for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
  • Team Leadership: Train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food, promoting a culture of excellence and teamwork.
  • Cleanliness and Safety: Inspect kitchens and food service areas, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and maintaining a clean and hygienic environment.
Requirements:
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year.
  • Skills: Attention to detail, fast-paced environment, standing for extended periods, dependability, judgement, reliability, team player, time management.
