GAT Airline Ground Support is seeking a skilled Airport Operations Agent to join our team. As a key member of our ground handling team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient turnaround of aircraft.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain Safety and Security: Ensure the ramp area is safe and secure at all times, adhering to strict safety protocols and procedures.
- Ground Handling Operations: Assist in the setup and storage of equipment and baggage, and participate in the Safety Management System (SMS).
- Aircraft Marshaling: Direct, assist, and park arriving, departing, and towed aircraft, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.
- Customer Service: Handle customer baggage and airfreight with care, loading and offloading aircraft, sorting, and transferring baggage to carousels.
- Aircraft Service: Service aircraft as needed, including lavatories, potable water fills, cabin grooming, and deicing.
- Equipment Maintenance: Observe safe ground-handling procedures and maintain ground service equipment, performing regular checks.
- Communication: Constantly communicate with flight crew personnel and other ground personnel to ensure seamless operations.
- Quality Control: Participate in SA's Safety Management System (SMS), reporting hazards and incidents, and understand, comply with, and promote the company Safety Policy.
- Training and Development: Participate in training to comprehend, implement, and maintain all quality objectives as stated in our Quality Management System.
- Eligibility: Be legally entitled to work in Canada.
- Driver's License: Possess a valid driver's license.
- Availability: Ability to work on a permanent basis in Canada.
- Criminal Record: Obtain a clear criminal record.
- Security Clearances: Ability to obtain necessary airport and/or Transport Canada security clearances.
- Physical Demands: Must be capable of lifting/pushing/pulling up to 50lbs (23kg) on a regular basis.
- Scheduling: Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and varying schedules.
- Training: Must successfully complete airline-specific training programs and recertification.
- Teamwork: Able to work efficiently as a part of a team as well as independently.
- Equipment Operation: Operate Ground Service Equipment in a safe and respectful manner.
- Pressure Management: Able to work well under pressure and meet set deadlines.
- Attention to Detail: Attention to detail in all areas of work.
- Work Ethic: Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.
