Laboratory Technician

About the Role:
This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to join our team as a Laboratory Technician at IDEXX, a leading veterinary diagnostic company. As a key contributor to our laboratory team, you will play a critical role in performing laboratory testing that helps veterinarians diagnose and treat pets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform laboratory testing using automated analyzers, microscopes, and other diagnostic tools to diagnose animal illnesses, injuries, and diseases.
- Conduct diagnostic tests on blood, urine, fecal, or pet biopsy samples, utilizing manual and automated techniques.
- Set up and run lab tests, read and release results according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Specialize in one or more areas, including testing cell-related components of blood samples, analyzing chemical and microscopic components of urine samples, and processing blood and body fluids for microscopic examination.
Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- 2-, 3- or 4-year degree in a Science-related field preferred.
- Experience working in a laboratory setting, particularly in veterinary diagnostics, is highly desirable.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a positive attitude and strong teamwork skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work reliably and precisely.
- Ability to meet physical requirements of the role, including standing and sitting for extended periods, phone and computer use, and lifting up to 50lb.
