About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Laboratory Supervisor to join our team at IDEXX. As a Laboratory Supervisor, you will be responsible for leading a team of Medical Laboratory Technicians and overseeing the day-to-day operations of our laboratory.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Development: Leverage your passion for coaching and developing employees to help them reach business goals and their full potential.
  • Operational Management: Organize staff schedules, coordinate workflow, and oversee costs and metrics to ensure efficient laboratory operations.
  • Problem-Solving: Troubleshoot diagnostic analyzers, resolve situational workflow and turnaround time challenges, and implement solutions to improve laboratory performance.
  • Business Leadership: Serve as a business leader and people leader for the lab and the line of business, driving business growth and excellence.
  • Teamwork and Collaboration: Foster a culture of teamwork, success, innovation, and excellence, and promote a positive and respectful work environment.
Requirements
  • Experience: Directly supervise 10+ employees in a fast-paced and/or high-volume work environment.
  • Education and Training: Minimum of 1 year of recent supervisory experience and knowledge of human clinical or veterinary testing and procedures.
  • Skills and Abilities: Passion for people leadership, ability to work nights, and physical requirements to work in a laboratory environment.
What We Offer
  • Competitive Compensation: Salary rate targeting $85,000 / year CAD.
  • Benefits: Opportunity for annual cash bonus, performance-based annual merit increase, health/dental benefits, RSP with employer matching, paid sick time, and paid vacation time.
  • Work-Life Balance: Full-time (40 hour/week), night-shift position with scheduled shifts Monday - Friday 11:00 pm - 7:30 am.
