Job Title: BSW or Mental Health Counsellor

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate BSW or Mental Health Counsellor to join our team at Brightshores. As a key member of our Addiction Treatment Services, you will provide high-quality assessments, counselling, and treatment planning to clients referred to or accessing our Rapid Access Addiction Medicine Clinic.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and group counselling sessions to clients with addiction and mental health issues
  • Conduct thorough assessments and develop treatment plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team
  • Work closely with the Addiction Treatment Services teams to achieve client goals and provide quality patient care
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community agencies and healthcare providers to ensure seamless referrals and services
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance skills and knowledge in addiction and mental health treatment

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work or a related field
  • Current registration with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers or the College of Psychotherapists
  • Minimum two years' experience working in a multidisciplinary team, preferably in addiction services
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to patient safety and well-being

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPR and CPI certification
  • GAIN Q3 and/or ADAT certification
  • Experience working with DATIS and Motivational Interviewing
