Daily Activities Overview
Project Management & Design Responsibilities
- Oversee transportation engineering initiatives and coordinate multidisciplinary teams, including civil, electrical, and environmental engineers, as well as architectural and technical support personnel.
- Enhance technical knowledge across various transportation engineering projects, including environmental assessments, preliminary and detailed designs, and construction phase services.
- Direct the creation of technical documentation and studies to facilitate the design of transportation facilities, ensuring compliance with environmental assessment requirements.
- Lead the development of contract documentation, which encompasses construction specifications, contract drawings, and cost estimates.
- Manage stakeholder engagement initiatives and deliver presentations to municipal councils and relevant agencies.
- Maintain effective communication with clients, oversee project budgets, and ensure successful project execution.
Business Development Activities
- Prepare project proposals and cost estimates.
- Take a proactive role in nurturing relationships with the Ministry of Transportation Ontario (MTO).
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities in collaboration with fellow project managers.
- Contribute to the leadership and strategic direction of the Transportation Facilities Group.
- Travel for project-related meetings and inter-office collaboration as required.

Qualifications for Success
- A degree in civil engineering.
- Licensed professional engineer in Ontario.
- A minimum of 15 years of relevant experience.
- Demonstrated leadership and business development skills.
Experience Requirements
- Proven track record with the MTO environmental assessment process and the design of provincial infrastructure.
- Experience with alternative project delivery methods.
- Strong leadership capabilities in managing multidisciplinary project teams.
- Exceptional project management skills.
- Proficient in public and agency consultation processes.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications (Teams, Word, Excel, Google Suite).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including technical report writing.
