Materials Team Leader

The Materials Area Leader is responsible for overseeing the daily materials conveyance activities to ensure the safety and efficiency of production operations. This position requires direct leadership responsibility, including the management of multiple shifts.
Your Responsibilities- Develop and implement training programs for Supervisors to enhance their leadership skills and ensure succession planning.
- Conduct performance appraisals and ensure that all employees receive regular feedback and coaching.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure effective communication and coordination.
- Support Area Leaders and Lead Hands in maintaining compliance with Presstran's Health and Safety/Ergonomic/Environmental standards.
- Plan and direct the utilization of equipment and manpower to achieve optimal results.
- Monitor and adjust inventory balances as needed, investigating and resolving inventory issues.
- Participate in personnel requirements planning, overtime scheduling, and coordinating layoffs.
- Coordinate preventative maintenance with Material Handling Equipment.
- Support supervisors in adhering to OHSA procedures and participate in regular workplace inspections.
- Oversee the loading and unloading of trucks and ensure the accuracy of receipts and shipments.
- Completion of post-secondary education in a related field (production/materials) and/or relevant work experience.
- 3-5 years of leadership experience.
- Experience in Material Flow Design in a Tier One automotive environment.
- ERP systems experience, specifically CMS in a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated ability to use Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) to drive business objectives and operational excellence.
- Experienced in Lean Implementation (standardized work, 5S, value stream mapping, A3 Method, etc.).
- Strong communication, leadership, and time management skills.
