Paracel Laboratories Ltd. operates as a comprehensive environmental and Indoor Air Quality testing facility. We provide a wide range of services to professional clients across Canada and internationally, with a focus on environmental consultants, government entities, and industrial manufacturers.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a Junior Analyst to contribute to our operations at our laboratory. The successful candidate will possess a keen eye for detail, manual dexterity, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment.

The Junior Analyst will be tasked with conducting analyses within a specific laboratory division (e.g., Organic or Inorganic). Responsibilities include preparing samples, standards, and reagents in accordance with established methodologies and quality control protocols, as well as supporting research initiatives under the guidance of the Department Supervisor. This is a full-time, permanent role.

Core Responsibilities:

  1. Conducting tests in compliance with established laboratory protocols
  2. Performing analyses and preparing lab standards and reagents for both routine and research projects
  3. Executing quality control measures for analyses
  4. Maintaining cleanliness and organization of the laboratory workspace
  5. Assisting in data collection and organization
  6. Monitoring and ordering supplies as necessary
  7. Adhering to company quality assurance and health & safety regulations

Candidate Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree or a diploma in Chemical/Biology/Biochemistry Technology or a related field with less than one year of relevant experience
  2. Exceptional attention to detail and precision
  3. Ability to follow and interpret detailed work instructions and procedures
  4. High level of manual dexterity
  5. Dependable and capable of meeting deadlines
  6. Strong verbal and written communication skills
  7. Ability to excel in a fast-paced setting
  8. Understanding of Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) principles
  9. Familiarity with Good Laboratory Practices (GLPs)
  10. Experience with ICP-MS is advantageous
  11. Capacity to work independently as well as collaboratively
  12. Proficient in computer applications, including MS Office (Word and Excel)
