The Cree Board of Health and Social Services of James Bay (CBHSSJB) is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to fill the role of Psycho-Social Rehabilitation Specialist in our Eeyou Istchee region. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for conceiving, updating, analyzing, and evaluating programs aimed at the psycho-social rehabilitation of our users.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement programs that address the psycho-social needs of our clients
  • Analyze and evaluate program effectiveness, making recommendations for improvement
  • Collaborate with community members, healthcare professionals, and other stakeholders to ensure program success
  • Provide coaching and training to clients, utilizing theoretical and practical knowledge
  • Identify and analyze client needs, developing targeted interventions

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Psycho Education
  • Two (2) years of relevant experience in psycho-social rehabilitation
  • Fluency in English; fluency in Cree or French is an asset
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations
  • Knowledge of Cree culture and language, social/health issues, and Eenou/Eeyou Pimaatsiiun healing practices and paradigm is an asset

About the CBHSSJB:

The CBHSSJB is responsible for providing health and social services to all persons residing permanently or temporarily in the Eeyou Istchee region, the Cree Territory of James Bay. Our region is a remote area in northern Quebec, comprising nine communities of the Cree Nation, an Indigenous population of nearly 18,000 people. We offer front-line services in our nine local CMCs, as well as second-line services through the regional hospital centre in Chisasibi. When second- and third-line services cannot be provided in the community, patients are transported to institutions affiliated with McGill University's Réseau Universitaire Intégré de Santé (RUIS).
