Position Overview:
The Department of Psychiatry within the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto is actively seeking a qualified Staff Psychiatrist specializing in Consultation-Liaison. The successful candidate will be appointed as a Clinician-Teacher and must meet the requirements for a full-time clinical academic position at the rank of Lecturer, Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert consultation-liaison services for transitional rehabilitation patients.
- Deliver addiction psychiatry and pain psychiatry consultations at designated facilities.
- Collaborate with the Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry team to offer both inpatient and outpatient psychiatric care.
Work Environment:
The role involves working at Pine Villa, a community transitional care facility, and the Humber River Reactivation Centre, both of which are designed to support patients who are not yet ready to return to the community. These facilities employ an interprofessional model of care, ensuring comprehensive support for patients.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate must possess an MD degree and be certified (or eligible for certification) by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. Additionally, the candidate must hold a valid license (or be eligible for licensure) in Ontario and have advanced training in addiction psychiatry and pain psychiatry. A proven track record in teaching is essential due to the presence of learners within the consultation-liaison team.
Compensation:
Compensation will be structured on a fee-for-service basis, supplemented by funding from Academic and Educational Trust Funds and/or sanctioned administrative roles within the department.
