About the Role

The ALDO Group, a leading global fashion footwear and accessories company, is seeking an experienced Product Developer to join its in-house team. As a Product Developer, you will be responsible for delivering fashion-forward footwear trends that meet the brand's high standards of quality and fashion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct market research to identify current and upcoming fashion trends and interpret them for the customer.
  • Collaborate with the design team to provide brand-building ideas and develop relationships with suppliers to create new products.
  • Calculate initial markup (IMU) and negotiate prices with suppliers to achieve design and target price targets.
  • Oversee sample development to ensure proper execution, tracking modifications and obtaining approvals from the director and design team.
  • Communicate product quality feedback to agents and internal teams, including buyers, design, and product engineering.
  • Lead communications with the Operations team regarding manufacturing lead times and delivery dates.
  • Review development and confirmation samples for aesthetic, fit, design, and quality, obtaining approval.
  • Supervise worksheet creation and updates.
  • Analyze sales results to propose new injections and repeats.
  • Manage digital filtering preparation, including unboxing prototype samples and setting up the digital deck layout.
  • Manage SMS specifications and requests.
  • Validate target costs to reflect SMS requests.
  • Prepare the showroom for handover finalization, including unboxing samples and setting up the SMS into sections.
  • Manage HF regroup and revised SMS requests.
  • Validate all revised SMS.

Requirements

  • University degree preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a footwear product development role.
  • Strong understanding of fashion trends and ability to translate them visually.
  • Positive, self-motivated, and strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to meet multiple deadlines in a timely manner.
  • Able to work independently and in a team setting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word.
  • Knowledge of Illustrator and Photoshop, an asset.
