Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Facilities Maintenance Specialist to join our team at Foodland. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our retail service establishment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate industrial vacuum cleaners to remove scraps, dirt, heavy debris, and other refuse from our store floors and facilities.
  • Empty trash cans and other waste containers, maintaining a clean and hygienic environment for our customers and staff.
  • Perform minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing, and electrical systems, and contact tradespersons for major repairs.
  • Coordinate with contractors for repairs and maintenance of our establishment, ensuring timely and efficient resolution of issues.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as painting and drywall repair, as well as water and tend to plants, lawns, and/or gardens.
  • Work with minimal supervision, taking initiative to address maintenance needs and ensure the overall upkeep of our store.
  • Clean snow and ice from walkways and parking areas during winter months.
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities
  • Repetitive tasks and physically demanding work environment.
  • Permanent full-time position, working 40 hours per week.
  • English language required for communication and collaboration with colleagues and customers.
