Neuroscience Researcher

We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our team as a Scientist in Brain Circuits at the Krembil Research Institute, University Health Network. This is a full-time permanent position with a non-tenured faculty appointment at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor in the Department of Physiology, University of Toronto.
About the PositionThe successful candidate will have a proven international track record in neuroscience and expertise in developing cutting-edge technologies. They will be expected to initiate and maintain an original, competitive, and independently funded research program of international caliber, and will be responsible for teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
Responsibilities- Conduct innovative research in neuroscience, with a focus on neural circuits, systems neuroscience, and plasticity.
- Develop and lead a research team, providing guidance and mentorship to junior researchers.
- Secure and manage research funding, including peer-reviewed grants and fellowships.
- Publish research findings in leading scientific journals and present at significant conferences.
- Teach and mentor students at the undergraduate and graduate levels, including developing and delivering courses in neuroscience.
The successful candidate will have:
- A Ph.D. in a relevant scientific discipline.
- Significant postdoctoral research experience and an established record of research excellence.
- Evidence of successful research funding and publications in leading journals.
- Presentations at significant conferences and increasing leadership experience in directing a research team.
