About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Prep Cook to join our team at Carleton University's Teraanga Commons Dining Hall. As a Prep Cook, you will play a vital role in preparing and serving high-quality food to our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist Sous Chefs and Cooks with the preparation of daily menu items
  • Cook on the line, grill, and use ovens to prepare a variety of dishes
  • Prepare stations with food and ingredients, ensuring a clean and safe working environment
  • Assembly of cooked products and presentation of dishes to meet customer expectations
  • Provide exceptional customer service, responding to customer inquiries and resolving any issues in a professional manner
  • Maintain a clean and sanitized working environment, adhering to health and safety standards
  • Assist with culinary auditing and food safety measures to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
Requirements
  • Previous experience in food service, preferably in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and health and safety standards
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move heavy equipment and supplies
