Aecon Nuclear is seeking a Contracts Administrator to join our team for Canada's first Small Modular Reactor project at Darlington.

Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth execution of this multi-year mega project. Your responsibilities will encompass all aspects of contract administration, from review and drafting to change management and communication with stakeholders.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Review commercial agreements, including requests for proposals, purchase orders, subcontracts, and consortium agreements, providing recommendations to project staff throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Collaborate closely with the Project Manager and team, liaising with subcontractors on commercial matters and coordinating the handover of completed subcontract packages.
  • Draft or amend contracts and commercial agreements, ensuring accuracy and clarity in all documentation.
  • Develop project-specific contract administration manuals, tools, policies, and procedures to ensure efficient contract management.
  • Assist the Contracts Manager with interpreting contract documents, identifying changes in scope, quantifying claims, and providing guidance on contractual matters to various team members.
  • Facilitate payments to subcontractors, including processing progress billings and back charges, while ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Contribute to monthly accruals for financial reporting purposes, reviewing cost reports and documenting significant project events.
  • Manage performance security for subcontractors, conducting financial reviews prior to contract awards and acting as the primary point of contact for all subcontractor communication.
Your Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Law, Communications, Paralegal Studies, or Engineering.
  • Basic understanding of legal documents and contract interpretation.
  • Experience in drafting and administering contracts.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products, particularly Word.
  • Experience with SAP is an asset.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
