The Role:

The Community Recreation Programs Manager is tasked with the oversight and orchestration of various activities and events at specified recreational venues. This includes providing guidance to programming personnel, collaborating with community organizations and businesses, and ensuring effective coordination with operational, marketing, customer service, and booking teams.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Recreation Management, Physical Education, or a related field, or a comparable mix of education and experience.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in program and event management, with a focus on supervising staff within a recreational or leisure context.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the principles, practices, methods, and procedures pertinent to managing recreational facilities, alongside a solid grasp of operational considerations.
  • Proficiency in developing and maintaining effective program policies, procedural guidelines, and manuals.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to foster positive relationships with key facility user groups, service providers, facility personnel, community stakeholders, municipal officials, and the general public.
  • Familiarity with relevant Federal and Provincial regulations, as well as municipal by-laws governing public facility operations.
  • Valid Intermediate First Aid certification.

Employment Status:

Exempt

Salary Range:

$85,202 to $106,502 annually.

$43.53 to $54.41 hourly.

Work Schedule:

75 hours biweekly, Monday through Friday, with potential evening and weekend commitments.
