Actuarial Associate Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Actuarial Associate to join our team at Oxford Properties Group. As an Actuarial Associate, you will provide technical actuarial and strategic support to our pension plans, working closely with our Strategy & Actuarial team.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and review benefit calculations, membership data files, and actuarial valuations.
  • Collaborate with the Finance team on actuarial forecasts and the Risk team on risk metric calculations.
  • Assist with technical and analytical activities, including trend and sensitivity analyses, benefit provision utilization analyses, and actuarial studies.
  • Develop and test systems and analytical tools to maintain top-tier delivery of in-house actuarial services.
  • Ensure compliance with privacy and internal records management policies and guidelines.
Qualifications:
  • University degree in actuarial science, statistics, or mathematics.
  • Demonstrated progress towards attainment of Associateship/Fellowship of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries.
  • Two to five years of pension or financial industry work experience.
  • Knowledge of Canadian pension legislation.
  • Highly analytical abilities with a mathematical aptitude and a proven understanding of actuarial principles, statistical concepts, and interest theory.
  • A client-service attitude, team spirit, and strong two-way communication and presentation skills.
