Key Responsibilities:
- Lesson Planning and Delivery: Prepare and deliver engaging lessons that integrate science, technology, engineering, and mathematics concepts, preparing our students for success in the rapidly evolving fields of STEM.
- Curriculum Development: Develop and implement integrated STEM lessons that meet subject-specific outcomes and expectations, incorporating inquiry and problem-based learning.
- Project-Based Learning: Contribute to the development and execution of project-based STEM activities that promote hands-on learning and real-world applications.
- Technology Integration: Identify opportunities to integrate technology into curriculum and lesson planning, enhancing student engagement and learning outcomes.
- Differentiated Instruction: Develop and implement lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs of students, promoting inclusive and equitable learning environments.
- Co-Curricular Activities: Participate in co-curricular activities, including coaching, clubs, and trips, to foster a sense of community and school spirit.
- Communication and Collaboration: Communicate effectively with parents and colleagues to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
- Professional Development: Engage in ongoing professional learning and reflection to continuously improve teaching practices and student outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Teaching Certification: Must have an Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) certificate, with qualifications in Mathematics and/or Science.
- Junior/Intermediate Teaching Qualifications: Must have junior/intermediate teaching qualifications.
- STEM Content Knowledge: Must have strong knowledge of STEM content areas, including science, mathematics, technology, and engineering.
- Experience with Robotics and Software Development: Must have previous experience with robotics design and software development.
- Strong Pedagogical Skills: Must have strong pedagogical skills and a commitment to ongoing professional development.
- Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative mindset.
