About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Cardiology Technologist to join our team at Nova Scotia Health. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing noninvasive cardiac diagnostic tests, including electrocardiograms, signal average electrocardiograms, ambulatory monitoring, and physician-assisted exercise tolerance testing.

The ideal candidate will have a strong sense of initiative and responsibility, with the ability to adapt to flexible workloads and stressful situations. They will also possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, healthcare professionals, and other stakeholders.

The Registered Cardiology Technologist will work in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our team. They will be responsible for preparing patients for ambulatory monitoring, performing stress tests under the direct supervision of a cardiologist, and precepting/mentoring new learners in the department.

Travel to other sites may be required.

About You

We are looking for a candidate who has:

  • Grade 12 plus successful completion of a Cardiology Technology program or acceptable equivalent
  • Current registration and good standing with the Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologists
  • Current BLS (HCP) certification
  • Recent clinical experience in an ECG Department and demonstrated proficiency in performing EKGs, Holter Monitors (includes scanning) and Stress Testing, ambulatory blood pressure monitors and assisting in Pacemaker/ICD clinics
  • Strong sense of initiative and responsibility
  • Ability to adapt to flexible workload and stressful situations
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours
  • Long assignment part-time position; 30 hours biweekly
  • Approximately 12 months
  • Shift work required, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays
