About the Opportunity

The Nova Scotia Health and IWK Health organization is seeking a skilled Registered Cardiology Technologist to perform noninvasive cardiac diagnostic tests, including Electrocardiograms, Signal Average Electrocardiograms, Ambulatory Monitoring, and Exercise Tolerance Testing. The successful candidate will prepare patients for ambulatory monitoring and perform stress tests under the direct supervision of a Cardiologist.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform noninvasive cardiac diagnostic tests, including Electrocardiograms, Signal Average Electrocardiograms, Ambulatory Monitoring, and Exercise Tolerance Testing.
  • Prepare patients for ambulatory monitoring and perform stress tests under the direct supervision of a Cardiologist.
  • Precept and mentor new learners in the department.
  • Travel to other sites may be required.

Requirements:

  • Grade 12 plus successful completion of a Cardiology Technology program or acceptable equivalent.
  • Current registration and good standing with the Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologists.
  • Current BLS (HCP) certification.
  • Recent clinical experience in an ECG Department and demonstrated proficiency in performing EKGs, Holter Monitors, and Stress Testing.
  • Strong sense of initiative and responsibility.
  • Ability to adapt to flexible workload and stressful situations.
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred.

Hours:

  • Long assignment part-time position; 30 hours biweekly.
  • Approximately 12 months.
  • Shift work required, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
