Job Title: Addiction Nurse - Registered Nurse (RN)/Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN)

Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a skilled Addiction Nurse to join our team at Drug Treatment Court Vancouver. As an Addiction Nurse, you will provide direct nursing care and supportive counseling to clients in the process of detoxification, stabilization, and transition into other residential addiction services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct nursing care and supportive counseling to clients
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members and other health professionals
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans
  • Conduct assessments and provide education to clients and their families
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives
Requirements:
  • Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)
  • Two (2) years' recent, related experience providing treatment services to individuals with mental health and/or substance use concerns
  • Valid BC Driver's License and access to a personal vehicle for business-related purposes
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of the principles of recovery and trauma-informed practice
  • Broad knowledge of nursing theory and practice within a client/family-centred model of care
  • Knowledge of BCCNM Standards for Nursing Practice
