About the Role

Zenith Canada Equipment Handling Inc. is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. As a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, you will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of heavy equipment, including heavy trucks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and Inspect Equipment: Use computerized and other testing equipment to detect faults and malfunctions in heavy equipment.
  • Diagnose and Repair Faults: Diagnose faults or malfunctions and repair or replace defective parts as needed.
  • Order Parts and Maintain Inventory: Order parts and maintain inventory of necessary supplies.
  • Adjust and Repair Equipment: Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts.
  • Keep Maintenance Reports: Keep accurate maintenance reports and documentation.
  • Test Repaired Equipment: Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturers' specifications.
  • Clean and Maintain Equipment: Clean, lubricate, and perform other maintenance work on heavy equipment.
  • Perform Routine Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks, including verifying and repairing emission control systems.
Requirements
  • Driver's License: Possess a valid Driver's License (Class 3 or D).
  • Automotive Service License: Hold an Automotive Service License (310S).
  • Diesel Engine Repair Specialization: Have experience with diesel engine repair and specialization in installation and alignment of engines and machinery.
  • Mechanical Maintenance and Repair Specialization: Have experience with mechanical transmissions, hydraulic transmissions, and brake systems.
  • Transportation/Travel Information: Be able to provide own transportation.
Experience
  • 2-3 Years of Experience: Have 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a related field.
  • Permanent Employment: Be willing to work permanent employment.
  • Language of Work: Be fluent in English.
  • Work Hours: Be able to work 40 to 50 hours per week.
