Job Overview

The Corporate Benefits Client Relationship Manager serves as the external representative for Manulife, engaging with both current and prospective corporate clients, including large and jumbo accounts, as well as key Advisor Firms and Partners. This role collaborates closely with Account Executives in a client-facing capacity, providing support to distribution partners in delivering exceptional benefits and services to Plan Advisors/Consultants and Plan Sponsors. A sophisticated understanding of the corporate landscape is essential to drive growth in our business portfolio, execute necessary tasks, and ensure client retention.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support: Assist distribution partners in securing new business; participate in finalist presentations and implementation meetings. Act as a liaison for internal partners in new business acquisition, serving as a subject-matter expert during presentations and ongoing discussions. Address benefit plan inquiries and resolve complex issues raised by Plan Sponsors, Plan Advisors/Consultants, and internal teams. Champion successful outcomes for all stakeholders, ensuring timely and thorough responses to service escalations.
  • Advise: Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential partners. Comprehend the complexities of each Plan Sponsor's Group Benefits design and the nuances of Advisor/Consulting firms. Analyze and interpret client reports, generating insights through web analytics platforms. Promote the adoption of Manulife's digital tools among group benefits clients and provide insights on digital engagement.
  • Educate: Conduct presentations for employee groups to facilitate enrollment and introduce Group Benefits. Train plan administrators on effective plan management and lead workshops on product updates. Maintain proactive communication with clients/advisors, ensuring regular engagement and support during new product launches.

Shared Responsibilities:

Collaborate with a team of Account Executives and other Service Relationship Specialists. Mentor new team members through job shadowing and support systems to ensure effective representation of Manulife Group Benefits Services.

Qualifications:

  • Extensive knowledge and experience in Group Benefits.
  • Strong understanding of Group Benefits products and services.
  • Proven ability to build and strengthen client relationships.
  • Self-motivated with a high degree of integrity.
  • GBA designation or progress towards it.
  • Understanding of funding arrangements, underwriting principles, and financial reporting.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, and web analytics.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently or as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

Working Conditions:

Occasional travel may be required for client meetings and events. Flexibility in working hours may be necessary to accommodate client needs.
