Job Overview

The Client Relationship Specialist position serves as the external representative for Manulife, engaging with both current and prospective corporate clients, including large and jumbo accounts, as well as key Advisor Firms and Partners. This role collaborates closely with Account Executives in a client-facing capacity, enhancing the value provided to Plan Advisors/Consultants and Plan Sponsors through superior service and support. A high level of expertise in the corporate sector is essential to drive growth, execute necessary tasks, and maintain strong client retention.

Key Responsibilities:

Support Assist distribution partners in securing new business; participate in finalist presentations and implementation discussions. Act as a liaison for internal partners to facilitate new business acquisition, contributing as a subject-matter expert in short-list presentations and ongoing meetings. Address complex benefit plan inquiries and resolve escalated issues from Plan Sponsors, Plan Advisors/Consultants, and internal contacts, ensuring timely and thorough responses. Champion successful outcomes for all parties involved, overseeing the resolution and negotiation of service escalations. Initiate amendment requests, ensuring completeness and timely acquisition of outstanding requirements to meet deadlines. Collaborate with Customer Experience and Operations teams to share information and identify key issues. Engage in various internal initiatives related to Group Benefits services and products. Advise As a representative of Manulife, cultivate and sustain strong relationships with existing and potential partners. Grasp the complexities of each Plan Sponsor's Group Benefits designs and the sophistication of Advisors/Consulting firms. Prepare, analyze, and interpret client reports, utilizing web analytics platforms for comprehensive insights. Provide expertise on Manulife's digital experience for group benefits clients, promoting key features and driving adoption among plan members. Deliver insights on digital usage to assist clients in understanding plan health and identifying opportunities for engagement. Establish and maintain client relationships by identifying needs and promoting retention through tailored recommendations on plan design and service options. Educate Conduct presentations for employee groups to facilitate enrollment and introduce Group Benefits offerings. Train plan administrators on effective plan management methods. Lead workshops and training sessions on product updates and new features, maintaining regular contact with clients and advisors. Collaborate with Account Executives to launch new products, becoming an expert in delivering and educating clients on these services. Utilize presentation tools to effectively communicate services to clients, guiding them through new offerings and legislative changes.

Shared Responsibilities:

Collaborate with a team of Account Executives and other Service Relationship Specialists, providing mentorship to new team members through job shadowing and support systems.

Qualifications:

Extensive knowledge and experience in Group Benefits. In-depth understanding of Group Benefits products and services. Proven ability to build and strengthen client and consultant relationships. Strong initiative and self-management skills. GBA designation or progress towards it. Understanding of funding arrangements, underwriting concepts, and financial reporting. Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, and web analytics platforms. Excellent presentation and communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. High level of negotiation and relationship management skills. Must possess a valid driver's license and have access to a personal vehicle.
