About the Role

As a Registered Social Worker within our Inpatient Mental Health Program, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive care to individuals experiencing serious mental illness. You'll work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team to assess patient needs, develop individualized treatment plans, and facilitate their successful reintegration into the community.

Your Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough psychosocial assessments of patients and families to understand their unique challenges and support requirements.
  • Develop and implement evidence-based interventions tailored to each patient's needs, promoting recovery and well-being.
  • Coordinate care with other healthcare professionals, ensuring seamless transitions between inpatient and community-based services.
  • Advocate for patients, connecting them with essential resources and support systems within the hospital and broader community.
  • Contribute to program development and research initiatives, advancing best practices in mental health care.

Your Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited university.
  • Active membership with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working in a mental health setting, preferably within an inpatient environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Mental Health Act, Criminal Code of Canada, and other applicable healthcare regulations.
  • Strong clinical skills in individual, family, and group therapy modalities.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and advocacy skills to effectively collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
