Vancouver Aviation College Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Flight Instructor to join our team.
Job Summary:We are looking for a qualified Flight Instructor to teach student pilots the procedures and techniques of flying aircraft and ground-school subjects such as navigation, radio procedures, and flying regulations. The successful candidate will have a strong background in commercial aviation and be able to instruct student pilots in a safe and effective manner.
Responsibilities:- Fly fixed-wing aircraft or helicopters and instruct student pilots in procedures and techniques of flying aircraft and ground-school subjects.
- Monitor the operation of engine and aircraft systems during flight and conduct in-flight tests to ensure the functioning of aircraft equipment and systems.
- Train licensed pilots for additional certification and prepare them for examination.
- Conduct pre-flight inspections of aircraft and check passenger and cargo distribution to ensure that weight and balance specifications are met.
- Communicate with flight dispatchers and weather forecasters and respond to and report in-flight emergencies and malfunctions.
- Prepare flight evaluation reports and maintain accurate records of student progress.
- Commercial Pilot Licence - fixed wing
- First Aid Certificate
- Transport Canada flight instructor rating
- Private Pilot and Commercial Pilot Licence - ultra-light airplane
- Basic security clearance
- Enhanced reliability security clearance
- Criminal record check
The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced commercial aviation environment with a focus on safety and customer satisfaction. The work will involve flying fixed-wing aircraft or helicopters and instructing student pilots in a variety of settings.
