Job Title: Flight Instructor

Vancouver Aviation College Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Flight Instructor to join our team.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a qualified Flight Instructor to teach student pilots the procedures and techniques of flying aircraft and ground-school subjects such as navigation, radio procedures, and flying regulations. The successful candidate will have a strong background in commercial aviation and be able to instruct student pilots in a safe and effective manner.

Responsibilities:
  • Fly fixed-wing aircraft or helicopters and instruct student pilots in procedures and techniques of flying aircraft and ground-school subjects.
  • Monitor the operation of engine and aircraft systems during flight.
  • Train licensed pilots for additional certification.
  • Train and prepare pilots for examination.
  • Conduct in-flight tests and monitor the functioning of aircraft equipment and systems during flights.
  • Conduct pre-flight inspections of aircraft and check passenger and cargo distribution to ensure that weight and balance specifications are met.
  • Contact control towers for takeoff clearances, arrival instructions, and other information.
  • Maintain communications with flight dispatchers and weather forecasters and respond to and report in-flight emergencies and malfunctions.
  • Prepare flight evaluation reports.
Requirements:
  • Commercial Pilot Licence - fixed wing.
  • First Aid Certificate.
  • Transport Canada flight instructor rating.
  • Private Pilot and Commercial Pilot Licence - ultra-light airplane.
  • Basic security clearance.
  • Enhanced reliability security clearance.
  • Criminal record check.
