University Health Network seeks a skilled Hematology Laboratory Technologist to contribute to our dynamic team.
In this role, you will perform a variety of laboratory procedures across different disciplines and functions within the Hematology department. Your responsibilities will encompass operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining essential laboratory equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute a range of laboratory procedures with precision and accuracy.
- Ensure the optimal functioning of laboratory equipment through operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Actively participate in educational programs, safety initiatives, and quality improvement projects within the department.
- Adhere to all hospital and departmental policies and procedures, upholding the highest standards of patient care.
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding patient information at all times.
Qualifications:
- Successful completion of a recognized Medical Laboratory Technologist program.
- Current registration with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists.
- A minimum of one year of recent experience working in a large hospital Hematology Laboratory.
- Comprehensive knowledge of routine hematology and coagulation techniques.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Excellent time management and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in computer applications and a collaborative team-oriented approach.
