Facilities Maintenance Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated Facilities Maintenance Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess the necessary skills to promptly address maintenance requests and ensure the upkeep of hotel facilities through preventative maintenance and general repairs. Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that the property and facilities exceed guest expectations.
  • Identify and resolve general maintenance issues throughout the property.
  • Respond to guest requests courteously, efficiently, and safely.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and necessary repairs to guest rooms and equipment, including kitchen, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
  • Conduct drywall repairs, painting, and basic carpentry as required.
  • Regularly inspect the property to ensure all systems are functioning properly, reporting any issues to the Maintenance Manager.
  • Maintain a clean work area, all equipment, and logbooks.
  • Respond to emergency situations, including fire alarms and power failures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Technical experience in a recognized trade with a general understanding of building maintenance and operations. Previous experience in a hotel environment is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • A collaborative team player with a passion for learning and growth.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Strong organizational skills and a self-starter mentality.
  • Familiarity with mechanical systems and operations, such as chillers, boilers, and plumbing.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Proficient computer and communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational abilities.
  • Knowledge of pool maintenance is advantageous.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
