Carpenter - Construction Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team at Flower City Contracting Services Inc. as a Construction Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of workmanship in the construction of residential and commercial buildings.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and layout building sites in accordance with building codes and regulations, using measuring tools and equipment.
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join various materials, including wood, wood substitutes, and other materials, to create building components.
- Construct foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems to ensure the structural integrity of buildings.
- Fabricate and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware to complete building components.
- Estimate costs and materials to ensure projects are completed within budget.
- Maintain, repair, and renovate existing buildings and structures to ensure they meet safety and building codes.
As a Carpenter with Flower City Contracting Services Inc., you will work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and a large workload. You will be required to work independently and as part of a team to ensure projects are completed on time.
Requirements- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent.
- 1 to less than 7 months of experience in the building trades industry.
- Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively with colleagues and clients.
- Reliability, team player, and organized with a strong attention to detail.
- Ability to provide awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment for persons with disabilities, newcomers, and refugees.
The primary language of work is English, and the work schedule is 30 to 40 hours per week.
