At The Safariland Group, we are dedicated to saving lives through our innovative products. As a Product Quality Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality of our Sensor Program(s) by providing comprehensive QA support. Your responsibilities will include developing quality plans, overseeing the performance of Contract Manufacturers, and assisting with inspections, customer acceptance, and product audits.

Key Responsibilities:
In this role, you will:

  • Deliver quality assurance support for product development initiatives, enhancements, and customer programs.
  • Facilitate Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) and Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA).
  • Establish and communicate acceptance criteria through Inspection/Test instructions and checklists.
  • Identify requirements for inspection/test instrumentation and product traceability.
  • Conduct First Article Testing and Inspections (FAT/FAI).
  • Support Product Physical and Functional Configuration Audits (PCA/FCA).
  • Evaluate processes and provide training to Contract Manufacturers and Suppliers on quality standards.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate policies and regulatory requirements in project QA deliverables.
  • Conduct audits and inspections of suppliers and vendors, both on-site and off-site.
  • Investigate issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective action plans.
  • Contribute to the Material Review Board (MRB) for nonconforming material assessments.
  • Provide technical guidance and assist in the creation of quality-related documentation.

Qualifications:
To be successful in this position, you should possess:

  • A technical certificate or diploma in mechanical, electronic, or a related field.
  • Health and Safety training.
  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer and/or Auditor certification is preferred.
  • 5-10 years of experience in a quality department within a product development or manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 standards and product regulatory requirements.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and experience with data analysis techniques.
  • Proficiency in inspection, testing, and risk management methodologies.
  • Functional computer skills, including MS Office applications.
  • The ability to interpret technical documents such as drawings and schematics.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Willingness to travel internationally and possess a valid driver's license.
