Job Title: Educational Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Educational Assistant to join our team at the Anglophone North School District.

Job Summary:

The Educational Assistant will work under the supervision and direction of the student's classroom teacher(s), resource teacher, principal, and/or other professional staff to support the inclusion and special education goals of students with exceptional needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support to students with exceptional needs in a classroom setting
  • Assist students with daily living skills, such as personal care and hygiene
  • Support students with behavioral challenges and develop strategies to promote positive behavior
  • Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to develop and implement individualized education plans
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to ensure a smooth and supportive learning environment

Requirements:

  • One-year post-secondary training and experience in a related field, such as Early Childhood, Youth Care, Human Services, or Educational Assistants
  • Knowledge of the Department of Education's Educational Assistant Guidelines for Standards and Evaluations
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
