About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Hygiene Health & Safety Technician to join our team at Englobe. As a key member of our Hygiene Health & Safety team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health and safety of our employees, clients, and the environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply and promote Englobe's health and safety rules and regulations.
  • Coordinate and complete assigned activities related to the implementation and management of environmental projects, including:
    • Conducting surveys related to Designated Substances and other Hazardous Materials, industrial hygiene investigation, asbestos and mould assessment, indoor air quality assessments, potable water surveys, and radon surveys.
    • Supervising and verifying site remediation activities.
    • Preparing field notes, data analysis, and evaluation.
    • Participating in technical report and proposal writing.
    • Participating in project meetings, office meetings, and health and safety inspections.
  • Maintain a commitment to exceeding client expectations by consistently delivering high-quality work.
  • Consistently maintain professionalism and objectivity while working with colleagues and clients who require varying degrees of support.
  • Handle difficult situations with tact and diplomacy to maintain positive working relationships with all internal and external contacts.
  • Develop and maintain client relationships.
  • Conduct project administration tasks as required, including time-sheet generation, organizing and filing, equipment calibration and maintenance.
  • Flexible schedule to work after regular business hours, weekends, and holidays (on occasion).
Requirements
  • University degree or college diploma in occupational health and safety, industrial hygiene, or a related field.
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant environmental assessment/field experience.
  • Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT) or Registered Occupational Hygienist (ROH) or Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of both provincial and federal environmental regulations.
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficient with the use of MS Office.
  • Experience in supervising contractors on the work site.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and able to complete work within established timeframes.
  • Team-oriented and an excellent communicator.
  • Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle.
  • Travel to remote areas, away from your normal place of work, may be required.
  • Demonstrated sensitivity and consideration for occupational health and safety.
