About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineering Technologist to join our team at IBI Group. As an Electrical Engineering Technologist, you will play a key role in the development of electrical design solutions for transportation infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support senior designers in the development of electrical design solutions for roadway and high mast lighting systems, traffic signal designs, and intelligent transportation systems contracts.
  • Utilize CADD software (AutoCAD and MicroStation) to prepare preliminary electrical layout design and detail drawings for infrastructure projects.
  • Collaborate with the design team to prepare conceptual and detailed design layouts and detailed drawings for various projects.
  • Ability to make changes or revisions to existing and new drawings using CADD software.
  • Proactively advance design techniques and procedures to support other designers, technical staff, and project managers.
  • Coordinate drawings with other disciplines and team members, and coordinate drawing filing systems.

Qualifications

  • Electrical Engineering Technologist College Diploma or similar Post-Secondary diploma focused on Engineering Technology.
  • Up to 3 years of related CADD Design experience.
  • Advanced skills using both AutoCAD and MicroStation and drafting experience is a must-have.
  • Good computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel are expected, Microsoft Visio skills are an asset.
  • A self-starter who must be able to multi-task with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
  • A contributing team player willing to contribute to various projects both in and out of his/her immediate team.
  • Ability to problem-solve.
  • Ability to understand, manipulate and configure large roadway files.
  • Good written and oral communication.
  • Some travel may be required and a valid Ontario G license is an asset.
