Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Early Childhood Program Staff Assistant to join our team at Bridlewood Child Learning Centre. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in supporting the daily operations of our early childhood program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Support: Assist early childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
  • Record Keeping: Assist early childhood educators or supervisors in maintaining accurate records.
  • Engagement and Guidance: Engage children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs, and preparing crafts. Guide and assist children in developing proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits.
  • Observation and Reporting: Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors.
  • Team Collaboration: Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children.
  • Environment and Safety: Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children. Supervise and coordinate activities of other early childhood educators and assistants.
Requirements
  • Certifications: First Aid Certificate and CPR Certificate.
  • Security and Safety: Criminal record check, medical exam, immunization records, tuberculosis test, and vulnerable sector check.
  • Work Conditions: Repetitive tasks, physically demanding, attention to detail, combination of sitting, standing, walking, bending, crouching, kneeling, and manual dexterity.
  • Personal Suitability: Punctuality, dependability, efficient interpersonal skills, excellent oral and written communication, flexibility, interpersonal awareness, reliability, team player, creativity, and ability to multitask.

  • Experience: Experience an asset.
