Position: Technical Animation Lead

As a pivotal member of Ubisoft, you will oversee the technical animation aspects of our projects, ensuring the delivery of high-quality gaming experiences. Your role will involve collaborating with a diverse team to shape the vision of our games while leveraging advanced technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert guidance and support to the animation team, facilitating their success through effective tools and resources.
  • Engage in strategic planning, balancing immediate objectives with long-term aspirations.
  • Work closely with core team members to evaluate game design concepts and assess technical feasibility.
  • Identify potential risks related to engine performance, memory usage, and frame rates.
  • Collaborate with programmers to enhance existing animation and rigging tools, and design custom solutions as needed.
  • Support animators, game designers, and riggers by addressing their technical requirements and clarifying the underlying causes of challenges.
  • Conduct training sessions for team members on tools and methodologies, fostering a culture of continuous learning.
  • Resolve complex technical issues and validate solutions effectively.
  • Contribute to post-mortem analyses, recommending improvements for future projects.
  • Participate in recruitment efforts to build a strong animation team and promote their professional growth.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in animation, rigging, or programming, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • A degree in 3D Animation, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering, or equivalent training.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and mentorship skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Familiarity with bug tracking software and version management systems.
  • A passion for knowledge sharing and team development.

Note: This position may require relocation for candidates residing outside the designated areas.
