Job Summary
The University of British Columbia is seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Client Services Representative to join our team at Robson Square. As a welcoming front-line ambassador, you will ensure that clients and guests have a positive and efficient experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional customer service to clients and guests, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner.
- Perform a range of administrative support duties, including data entry, event payment processing, and exam invigilation.
- Work collaboratively with the Front Desk team and other stakeholders to ensure seamless operations and excellent customer service.
- Process deposits and payments for events, including cheques and credit cards, using dual dedicated software programs.
- Assist in the reconciliation of accounts and provide accurate and timely feedback to event planning staff.
- Invigilate exams for external organizations, universities, and institutions, following school-specific requirements and troubleshooting as needed.
- Facilitate sales of UBC merchandise through the front desk, including stocking, credit card processing, and providing receipts.
- Perform Floor Warden duties during emergency evacuations as needed.
Requirements
- High school graduation, plus one year of related training, plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Willingness to respect diverse perspectives and demonstrate a commitment to enhancing one's own awareness, knowledge, and skills related to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
- Ability to provide quality service to customers in a courteous, patient manner, and to deescalate emotionally charged situations.
- Strong conflict resolution skillset and ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, and to prioritize and work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines.
