Job Title: Professor of Indigenous Allied Health

We are seeking a highly qualified Professor of Indigenous Allied Health to join our team at Mohawk College. As a Professor, you will play a key role in delivering student-centered instruction, promoting student success, and participating in reflective practice and continuous professional development.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver high-quality instruction to students in Allied Health programs, including INDS 10012 Indigenous Culture and Multiculturalism, and HSCI 10171 Anatomy & Physiology.
  • Design and implement curriculum, simulation, and practicum experiences that meet the needs of diverse students.
  • Participate in program quality assurance activities and contribute to the development of new programs and courses.
  • Collaborate with faculty experts to enhance educational delivery through the use of technology and innovative teaching strategies.
  • Use a variety of techniques to evaluate student achievement of learning outcomes and provide feedback to students.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in a field related to Allied Health, with a focus on Indigenous health.
  • Minimum of five years of experience working in a healthcare setting, including experience working with Indigenous communities and client groups.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Indigenous-focused policies and social determinants of health.
  • Indigenous identity and connections to First Nations, Metis, or Inuit communities would be an asset.
  • Previous post-secondary teaching experience and proven experience with curriculum design and evaluation.
  • Evidence of ongoing and relevant professional development and scholarly work.
