Position Overview

The Production Control Analyst will be an integral member of a dedicated team of professionals reporting to the Team Lead. This role is essential for ensuring the efficient operation of automated systems that manage the daily workload. These systems are responsible for Batch load management, monitoring, and incident response. The selected candidate will engage in the routine maintenance and execution of batch environments while overseeing the overall health of backend business processes. Additionally, the candidate will focus on automation enhancements and the application of emerging technologies to optimize system operations.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Oversee and adjust the live environment to facilitate batch requests and modify the batch setup as necessary.
  2. Due to security requirements, candidates must have resided in Canada for a minimum of 5 years and possess either Permanent Resident or Citizenship status.
  3. Assist with application upgrades and updates to the live environment, as well as support development environments.
  4. Monitor the health of the live environment to proactively address issues before service disruptions occur.
  5. Support the incident management process and escalation by monitoring after standard service desk hours.
  6. Execute batch processing using the Batch Scheduling tool (Tivoli Workload Scheduler).
  7. Participate in on-call duties, including weekends and various shifts (Day-Evening-Night rotation).
  8. Manage production print tasks, including operating multiple printers in a secure environment (On-Site).
  9. Demonstrate the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Required Qualifications

  1. Education: Post-secondary diploma or degree in computer technology or a related field.
  2. Work Experience: A minimum of three (3) years of experience in a live enterprise environment providing business services.
  3. Other Qualifications: Strong ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines under pressure.
  4. Computer Skills: Proficient in UNIX or LINUX and Windows operating systems, with a keen interest in learning new technologies and software; experience in scripting and automation; familiarity with monitoring and workload scheduling tools.
  5. Language Skills: Bilingualism is considered an asset.

Security Clearance Requirement:

  1. Successful candidates must obtain Reliability Status Clearance (Enhanced Level B) prior to employment, which includes Fingerprinting, Criminal Record Check, Credit Check, and verification of residency in Canada for at least 5 years with Permanent Resident or Citizenship status.
