Position Title: Community Engagement Specialist

(Seasonal Role)

Become an integral part of Les Petits Frères, a well-respected organization dedicated to enhancing the lives of isolated seniors. Our committed team of professionals and volunteers work tirelessly to fulfill our mission of providing companionship and support to the elderly.

As a Community Engagement Specialist, you will collaborate closely with fellow team members to design and implement summer programs aimed at reducing loneliness among seniors. Your role will also involve visiting those who are unable to participate in community activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the planning and execution of diverse activities and entertainment for seniors, working in partnership with team members
  • Provide logistical assistance for event organization
  • Facilitate certain activities
  • Conduct visits to seniors in their residences, nursing homes, or hospitals
  • Report any changes in seniors' living conditions, health status, or challenges to the coordinator
  • Perform follow-up communications with seniors and volunteers
  • Help organize occasional outings for seniors
  • Maintain documentation and notes in the relevant files

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in post-secondary education (preferably completed the second year) in fields such as special education, social work, recreational therapy, psychoeducation, psychology, or related human sciences
  • Genuine passion for enhancing the well-being of elderly individuals
  • Familiarity with the culture of non-profit organizations
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Diplomatic and attentive demeanor
  • Highly organized and self-sufficient
  • Creative and innovative thinking

Employment Conditions

  • One temporary position for a duration of 8 weeks
  • 35 hours per week
  • $19 per hour
  • Flexible working hours with a hybrid model (in-person and remote work)

Eligibility Criteria

  • Aged between 15 and 30 years
  • Legally authorized to work in Canada
