Team Overview
The Nanometrics Seismic Monitoring Services (SMS) unit is looking for a highly skilled and motivated Cloud Services Operations Manager. This role involves overseeing the operation and delivery of a 24/7 cloud-based data center. The successful candidate will need to develop a thorough understanding of Nanometrics' service offerings and the associated technological landscape. Collaboration across various business functions is essential to effectively allocate internal resources and meet stakeholder objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and inspire a diverse team dedicated to maintaining 24/7 services within the cloud infrastructure, encouraging a culture of teamwork and continuous enhancement.
- Provide strategic direction for the cloud data center, advocating for its growth and driving initiatives for efficiency and automation.
- Oversee and coordinate all facets of a continuously available cloud environment that supports critical business applications.
- Continuously monitor the status and completion of infrastructure projects.
- Manage infrastructure costs and provide regular updates to senior management.
- Act as the primary advocate for the evolution of the cloud-based data center, offering strategic operational guidance.
- Promote and facilitate the advancement of the environment towards greater efficiency and automation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in computer science or technical operations.
- 7-10 years of experience in technology operations roles, including service management, technical architecture, and network/systems operations.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience leading a multidisciplinary technology support team at a managerial level.
- Proficient in technical architecture and network/systems operations.
- Familiar with modern cloud concepts and technologies, particularly related to Kubernetes, including networking, load balancing, auto-scaling, and cluster optimization.
- Experience with observability platforms for metrics, logs, and tracing.
- Knowledge of Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) concepts, including GitOps best practices.
