Job Summary and Requirements

The Department of Education in the Yukon government is seeking a skilled Facilities Project Manager to join their Operations team. This role is responsible for the planning, development, and capital maintenance of all physical facilities and related equipment and grounds required for the effective operation of Public Schools programs throughout the Territory.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage major projects, including estimating, budgeting, and management of human, financial, and material resources;
  • Track and update project status;
  • Coordinate with contractors and negotiate quotes;
  • Ensure health and safety matters of the facilities and/or concerns caused by equipment within the facilities are addressed;
  • Collaborate with the Director of Operations to develop and implement policies, programs, and initiatives that promote student success and enhance educational outcomes across the territory.

Essential Qualifications

  • Significant experience in contract management and procurement methodology;
  • Experience working with contractors and managing major projects;
  • Post-secondary education in architecture, engineering, or a related discipline;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
