Job Summary

Spruce Meadows is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Jump Crew team as an Attendant. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our outdoor competition rings and adjacent warm-up rings during tournaments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Setup and maintenance of competition rings and warm-up rings
  • Measure and ensure obstacle heights, widths, and distances meet Equestrian Canada and FEI standards
  • Assist with sports timing equipment setup and maintenance
  • Participate in equine ambulance drills and emergency animal removal
  • Perform jump repair and general maintenance, including painting and basic carpentry
  • Divot and turf repair, irrigation requirements, and basic maintenance of equipment and tools
  • Maintenance of Spruce Meadows grounds, including pathways, fencing, and temporary and permanent structures

Requirements

  • Minimum 18 years of age
  • Full availability during contract dates
  • High school diploma or equivalent experience
  • No experience required, but experience with horses and/or jump crew is an asset
  • Comfortable around horses
  • Reliable transportation and a valid Class 5 driver's license are considered assets
  • Available to work weekends, evenings, late nights, early mornings, and on call
  • Comfortable with physically demanding tasks, including handling heavy loads and standing for long periods
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Organizational proficiency, basic English communication skills, and ability to multi-task
