Key Responsibilities:

Program Management:

  • Tailors program components to align with the requirements of designated healthcare providers;
  • Ensures compliance with nursing practice standards;
  • Evaluates patient conditions and collaborates with healthcare providers to finalize patient enrollment, prepare coverage petitions, and audit patient records;

Patient Assistance:

  • Greets each patient and collects essential information;
  • Delivers therapy guidelines to patients and healthcare providers;

  • Manages coverage interactions with insurers in accordance with program protocols;
  • Follows up with patients regarding reimbursement processes;
  • Guides patients through financial assistance options;
  • Assists with pharmacy selection and coordinates medication delivery;
  • Supports patients in therapy coordination and ongoing monitoring;
  • Reports adverse events in compliance with program protocols;
  • Identifies barriers to coverage and communicates these to management.

Mentorship and Team Support:

  • Contributes to the training and development of new team members as needed;
  • Provides ongoing support to colleagues through regular communication;
  • Builds and maintains positive relationships with the Patient Support team;
  • Shares timely patient and clinic information as required.

Client Engagement:

  • Participates in scheduled meetings with healthcare providers and sales representatives;
  • Establishes strong working relationships with healthcare providers and their staff, offering additional support to ensure smooth patient management;
  • Proactively addresses client concerns related to assigned healthcare providers;
  • Attends relevant educational events and reports on new developments;
  • Delivers presentations to healthcare providers in collaboration with sales representatives on new initiatives;
  • Provides training to healthcare providers on program offerings and approved initiatives;
  • Acts as a liaison, providing feedback to the Patient Assistance Program based on field observations and customer insights.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Completes all necessary reports (time sheets, expenses, mileage, etc.) within specified timelines;
  • May be assigned other duties as required;
  • May be required to be on standby or on call as part of this role.


Qualifications:

Experience and Education:

  • Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Practical Nurse (RPN); registration with the Provincial College of Nurses; case management experience preferred;
  • Minimum of three years of nursing experience in a clinical environment is an asset;
  • Willingness to travel within an assigned area, with some overnight travel as necessary;
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification may be required based on program specifics;
  • Valid driver's license, current auto insurance, and reliable transportation for regional travel;
  • Experience in various therapeutic areas is beneficial;
  • Typically requires a minimum of five years in reimbursement or pharmaceutical sales, managed care, or clinical support;
  • Background in pharmaceutical sales and marketing is advantageous;
  • Understanding of reimbursement structures and processes;
  • Experience with reimbursement navigation and authorization processes;
  • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to interpret regulations and legislation;
  • Fluency in English and/or French may be required based on program and location.
