Key Responsibilities- Supervise and Manage Financial Staff: Lead a team of three financial professionals, providing training, coaching, mentoring, and evaluation to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to perform their duties.
- Financial Operations Management: Supervise the administration of cash disbursements, including accounts payable, bursaries, and treasury functions, to ensure compliance with Board policy, Ministry requirements, tax, and financial accounting rules.
- Financial Reporting and Analysis: Supervise the administration of cash receipts, including grant revenue, accounts receivable, and fees collection, to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Financial Planning and Budgeting: Supervise the overall accounting for school budget and school-generated funds, ensuring compliance with Board policy, Ministry requirements, tax, and financial accounting rules.
- Leadership and Development: Provide leadership in the implementation of operational improvements and initiatives, and serve as a technical support liaison for our financial system.
- Education: University degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance.
- Experience: Five years of progressively responsible business and accounting management experience, preferably in the public sector.
- Professional Designation: Recognized professional accounting designation (CPA) or CPA candidate on track to obtain designation within one year.
- Skills: Demonstrated proficiency in financial software applications, advanced expertise with Microsoft Office applications, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and strong proficiency in financial accounting and financial control matters.
